Exact lengths for database testing

Choose an exact number of characters or UTF-8 bytes to test field limits, such as a VARCHAR(255) column. The output is exactly that long and never ends with a space; the last word may be cut short. Characters and bytes differ once text leaves plain ASCII: café is 4 characters but 5 UTF-8 bytes, so pick bytes when the limit is a byte limit.
